Beth Sperlazza pottery is funky jubilant utilitarian pottery for your home, kitchen and life.
I throw each piece by hand on the potters wheel with earthenware clay. I then decorate the pots with layers of colored slips. For my everyday tableware pieces, I make each unique by building up the pot’s surface using layers of traditional printmaking techniques such as monoprinting, masking and linocut printing. By using scalloped edges that reference lace detailing and adding stitch marks made with a tool from my sewing kit, I create pottery that has a playful feminine vibe.
